Just when Oklahoma City Thunder fans were gearing up for the return of the NBA's reigning MVP, it seems like they've been stabbed right in the chest with disappointment. Breaking news recently revealed that OKC is shutting down Kevin Durant indefinitely for the season.

We all have known that KD has been off and on the court this season due to foot injuries, but the triple double machine Russell Westbrook has been able to ease the pain for the time being. As the team's general manager, Sam Presti, broke the news today, he stated that "the goal is to get him back on the court healthy, whenever that is."

There's no telling if we may see 'The Real MVP' hit the court this season, but let's hope it's sooner rather than later. With OKC battling the best of the West for playoff contention, Thunder fans can only hope for the best, but yet expect the worse when it comes to the conclusion of their team's 2014-2015 Season.

What are your thoughts? Do you think it's a good idea for KD to rest until his full healing potential is reached (a la Derrick Rose), or do you think he should tough it out in order for his team to achieve a guaranteed playoff position? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
