Nelly made history earlier this week as he performed in Ebril, Iraq in a special concert dedicated to the victims of the Islamic State and Greater Syria.

According to Time, Nelly drew a crowd of 15,000 to Rwanga Foundation's charity event on Thursday. The rapper is the first American performer in its 3,000 year history. Ticket sales were donated to the victims of the current conflict in the area. Kurdish forces have remained on the front lines of Iraq and Syria against ISIS.

Nelly performed a melody of hits from his career, including songs such as "Hey Porsche," "Air Force Ones," and "Hot In Herre." While talking to reporters, the rapper says he was surrounded by loving fans during the show and wouldn't mind returning to the country. "I'm honored that this country has paid attention to Nelly," he said. "And I thought it would be dope to be the first [artist] to come out."
