Blessed with the ability to inspire laughter, Tracy Morgan was notably missed during the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special. The organic comedian invested over seven years into the SNL franchise, as he was a castmember from 1996 until 2003. During that time several bold characters like Dominican Lou, Uncle Jemima, and Astronaut Jones were created for the audience's viewing pleasure.

Morgan continues to regain his health following the devastating June car crash that left him critically injured. Though his limbs continue to mend, Tracy Morgan is working to reaffirm his mental perspective. From forced reflection on the harrowing accident, the insightful comic decided it was not the time to make a return to television. His presence was missed.

A trusted friend confided, "They really wanted him to be there, but when it came down to it, he just isn't mentally or emotionally ready to appear on TV yet," reports the New York Post.

Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin both worked with Morgan on 30 Rock, and they delivered a sincere tribute at the reunion special.
