Lil Wayne's frustrations with former mentor Birdman and Cash Money not releasing "Tha Carter V" prompted the New Orleans spitter to drop "Sorry 4 the Wait 2" as an apology to his loyal fans. He then announced he'd be dropping a free album in the form of "Free Weezy." Just hours after his own artist dropped a surprise mixtape, Weezy could possibly be dropping his free album as well.

It was announced via Twitter that the album would drop later today (2/13) via the MyMixtapez app, which also premiered his last tape, S4TW2. Wayne also confirmed the new body of work would be available soon when he tweeted "Hit Sent. #FWA." Unfortunately, the MyMixtapez tweet that indicated it would be dropping tonight was deleted, leaving fans unsure if they should expect the new album sooner than later.

Check out the album's official artwork and more pics of Weezy in the gallery above.
