Common and John Legend are still on a natural high from winning a Golden Globe for their collaboration, "Glory" from the Selma soundtrack, and according to John Legend, the two Midwesterners are preparing to it the stage at The Oscars to perform the track, for which they are also nominated.

"I'm so honored to announce that @TheAcademy invited me and @common to perform at the #Oscars on Feb. 22nd," Legend said in a tweet sent on January 27.

While this is huge look for the culture, it's isn't Hip Hop's first trip to the Oscars, as both Eminem and Three 6 Mafia have taken home the very award for which Common and Legend are nominated. Eminem won in 2003 for "Lose Yourself" from the 8 Mile soundtrack, while Three 6 Mafia won three years later for "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from the film Hustle & Flow.
