Pete Rock sparked a firestorm of heated discussions on various social media platforms after he publicly defended Bill Cosby from the continuous rape allegations that keep surfacing.

Pete took to both Twitter and Instagram to defend Cosby's honor after having over a dozen women come forward claiming that he drugged them and then either attempted to, or succeeding in sexually assaulting them.  He referred to Cosby as "America's father figure," and stated that the timing that these accusations surfaced was far too coincidental.

Pete explained how the initial rape allegations came out back when Cosby was in a position to purchase NBC back in the 1990s, and now that he was gearing up to start a "major media company" and start a new TV and Netflix series.  He thinks that this is a primary example of how powerful Black men are often met with various roadblocks to halt their success.

As a result of his comments, fans have responded both on Twitter and Instagram.  Some have agreed with Rock's statements, while others have criticized him greatly for his views on the matter.
