There's sad news to report for the hip hop community, as Philly rapper Beanie Sigel is in surgery following a shooting in Pleasantville, NJ., where the "Feel It in the Air" rapper was shot in the torso. Another man at the scene was also injured.

The shooting was reported at 9:25 this morning (Dec. 5th) at 834 Spruce Avenue. When police and medics arrived, they confirmed the victim as Dwight Grant, Sigel's government name. The second victim reportedly refused medical attention. No information on his identity, or the identity of the shooter, has been released.

Sigel was released from federal prison after being sentenced to two years on tax evasion charges in August, and according to the federal Bureau of Prisons enrolled in residential re-entry management in Philly on August 14th. He was then sent to home confinement on September 25th. It is unclear why he was in Jersey at the time of the shooting.
