Game's charitable efforts through his community service charity, The Robin Hood project, earned the rapper the prestigious "Humanitarian of the Year" award from the ABC Charity Gala over the weekend.

The L.A. rapper posted several photos from the gala on Instagram and thanked all of his fans for their help and support. The rapper began the The Robin Hood Project last year after meeting a child in Africa and giving him money to feed his family. Since then, the rapper has raised over $1 million to fund other charitable programs. Game has also used his star power to raise awareness on gun violence in rural neighborhoods and encourage other celebrities like Khloe Kardashian and Lala Anthony to participate.

Game said his thank yous via Instagram Saturday night.

"It all started when I gave one kid from Africa $20," he captioned a photo on Instagram. " That created @therobinhoodproject & since then I've given away over a million dollars of my own money hand to hand & through charitable organizations. I am honored & more than appreciative of #ABC for this "Humanitarian Of The Year" award. I was just a poor kid from Compton.... Never thought in a million years I'd have even an extra dollar to giveaway let alone a million."
