The Florida State University shooter has been officially identified as 31-year-old Myron May, who just so happened to be an FSU alumnus and an attorney with a license to practice law in Texas and New Mexico.

The news is truly shocking, due to the fact that from the outside looking in, Mr. May doesn't fit the profile of a deranged school shooter in the slightest bit.  However, when you dig a little deeper, it appears as though Myron was actually very troubled and possibly severely mentally ill.

His Facebook profile is flooded with religious Bible quotes, conspiracy theories, and also paranoid posts about civilians being "targeted" by the government.  According to authorities investigating Myron's backstory, he actually believed that he was being targeted by the government for persecution, and vented his thoughts on his paranoia in various journal and video entries.

Myron May was actually involved in a harassment complaint last month, according to a police report from Las Cruces, New Mexico.  His former girlfriend alerted police after Myron frightened her by arriving at her house uninvited and claiming that his house and car were being monitored by various electronic bugs planted by the government.  She also informed police that Myron had recently developed "a severe mental disorder."  According to the report, Myron had also recently quit his job and was under the influence of various medication.

The alarming news about the FSU shooter has startled many people, who were expecting to hear the typical profile about the assailant being a troubled, lonely teenager.  Some people were very also very surprised by the shooter's race.
