The New England Patriots came under fire after a contest congratulating their one millionth fan went terribly wrong. The NFL team's account filtering system chose a user with an incredibly racist Twitter handle, which was emblazoned on the back of a jersey and sent out to their followers.

"@IHATEN****RSS Thanks for helping us become the first NFL team with 1 million followers! #1MillionPatriots," read the embarrassing message.

They later apologized for the snafu, but fans didn't think it was a strong enough message for the situation. Check out the Patriots' message in the above slide, along with fan reactions.
