Despite having a string of hits over the years, Ginuwine's lawyer claims that the "Pony" singer owes hundreds of thousands of dollars to the IRS. His lawyer, Bruce Beckner, revealed Ginuwine's finances after Robert Reives filed a lawsuit against the singer for royalties owed on "The Bachelor," which Reives executive produced.

Beckner says there's no way Ginuwine, real name Elgin Lumpkin, could pay Reives, and claims that the singer is about to file bankruptcy, "Mr. Lumpkin is very close to declaring bankruptcy. He owes my firm a ton of money and a bunch of other people a ton of money. He owes Uncle Sam 300-odd thousand dollars in back income taxes."

Reives is seeking $250,000 in the case, but Ginuwine believes that the case has fallen outside of the statute of limitations. The executive producer's lawyer also casts doubt on the singer's dire financial state, claiming that Ginuwine "has spared no expense in this proceeding to try every angle and every new legal theory his lawyers could come up with."
