While 50 Cent is busy crafting new G-Unit material alongside Tony Yayo, Young Buck and Lloyd Banks, the Queens MC is adding a very important show date to the schedule, as he'll be one of the headlining acts for an upcoming LGBT charity event where he will join Salt-N-Pepa, The Dixie Chicks and others for a cause.

According to the Huffington Post, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" singer Cyndi Lauper is hosting the event, "Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays." The proceeds from the benefit concert will go towards Lauper's True Colors Fund, an advocacy group for homeless LGBT youth.

50 (whose own mother was a lesbian) choosing to headline the show is a bit of a shock, as he's been accused of making homophobic statements in the past, such as telling Playboy Magazine in 2004 that he doesn't like "f****ts" while also taking homophobic jabs at Steve Stoute & Diddy in recent years.

The "In Da Club" rapper has shown a more accepting side lately however, backing President Obama's support of same-sex marriage. He also mentored a transgendered teen on an episode of "Dream School."
