Michael Sam, the first openly gay player to be drafted into the NFL, has just been cut by the Dallas Cowboys organization.  Sam, who was originally drafted by the St. Louis Rams before being cut by their organization, was picked up by the Cowboys and added to their practice team on September 3rd.  However, his dreams of prolonged NFL glory were once again cut short after Sam was waived from the Cowboys franchise today, October 21st.

While with the practice squad, Sam was living very comfortably, raking in a nice $6,300 per week.  Obviously, the news of his release is not something that Sam wanted to hear, but he addressed his fans on Twitter and spoke positively about his willingness to move forward past this in order to gain further successes down the road.  He was very gracious of the Cowboys for giving him the opportunity to try and find a home on their team as well.

Since the news broke of his release, fans have been actively posting their many reactions on Twitter.  Some were very shocked, while others were never really impressed with Sam's skill in the first place, and agreed with the decision to make the cut.

Check out the reactions above and let us know what you think of the Cowboys cutting Michael Sam.
