Iggy Azalea cleared the air about her Australian roots on Twitter this week after her recent beef with Snoop Dogg.

According to MTV, many people have swarmed the rapper with questions about her background and why she refuses to rap about her hometown in Australia.

Iggy explained that she isn't ashamed of where she's from, but doesn't want to isolate any of her fans. She also added that her experiences are more meaningful than the places she's lived over the years.

"[To] fill a song full of references about Australia or any other place in particular would defeat the entire point," she tweeted. " because the point is to defy the notion you're defined by the dirt underneath your feet."

She added that her music is "powerful" and meant to touch everyone all over the world.

"The point is for my music to be more influential, relatable and inspirational than the place we live.I'm the product of how powerful music is and how far it can reach. I'm one of those kids and I love it."
