A teen from Randle, Washington wasn't expecting to be removed from school property when he arrived at White Pass Jr. Sr. High School as his favorite rapper, Nicki Minaj.

According to CNN, Chandler Krueger and other 10th graders were asked to dress up as their favorite celebrities during "Spirit Week." The teen came in an all pink ensemble as Nicki Minaj. Another teen came dressed up as Miss America.

Both were asked to change by the administration. When the teens refused to change, they were sent home.

"If they really wanted Spirit Week, then why punish somebody for being spirited and all that?" Krueger said.

Krueger believes he was sent home because he dressed up as women. The following day instead of dressing up in American-garb for American Pride Day, many teens dressed up as the opposite sex to honor the teens.

Superintendent Chuck Wyborney explained to reporters that the incident was handled inappropriately and plans to look into the school's clothing policies.

"If it happens again, we'll handle it differently," he said.
