Amanda Bynes' family has decided to keep the actress in the care of doctors for an additional two weeks for the sake of her mental health.

According to Gawker, the troubled actress was initially sent in for a "5150 hold," which only requires a patient to be kept for 72 hours. Unless the person is a danger to themselves and others, an extension can be infiltrated.

Bynes' alarming behavior returned during a recent trip to New York and was later heightened by her accusations of sexual and mental abuse by her father. She also claimed that she wasn't able to speak on the problems she had with her family before because there was a "microchip in her brain."

She also announced her engagement to aspiring actor Caleb Pusey this month. However, the 19-year-old has denied the claims, stating that he hasn't talked to the actress in months.
