Police are scrambling to find the person involved in the shooting of a Ferguson police officer Saturday evening.

According to Reuters, the shooting had nothing to do with the peaceful protests happening in the town since the death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.

The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. last night when a police officer was chasing the subject out of the Ferguson Community Center. The suspect shot the officer in the arm. The cop returned fire but missed, leading the suspect to escape into a wooded area.

Police previously suspected there were two shooters, but have narrowed it down to one.

There was also another officer who was shot at as he drove down the freeway in a personal car. He only suffered minor injuries.
