A NFL pregame show that was set to feature Rihanna was canceled by CBS and the NFL amid the domestic violence controversy surrounding the league and former Ravens running back Ray Rice.
The network insists removing the intro featuring Rihanna was done to ensure the proper tone and coverage of the Thursday Night Football game featuring the Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens, Rice's former team.
The host panel used the extra time to discuss the incident involving Rice and his wife, and the impact it has had this NFL season.
Rihanna has a history with domestic violence as she was famously assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009.
The song, "Run This Town" by Jay-Z and also featuring Kanye West, will remain the theme of NFL Network's Thursday Night Football for the rest of the season.
