More supporters of Ray Rice have been emerging ever since the video of his brutal attack on his wife Janay Rice was released recently. Floyd Mayweather offered words of support for Ray amid this scandalous time, and expressed his views on how he believes as though the NFL should not be punishing him twice for the same crime, even if the first punishment wasn't what he might've deserved. Michael Vick also believes that Ray deserves a second chance.
Meanwhile, fellow NFL players and general celebrities have all spoken out against Rice for the harsh punches that he landed on Janay, knocking her unconscious inside of an Atlantic City casino elevator. Fans have also created tons of memes poking fun at Ray for his violent actions. Chuck D also responded, but he took an entirely different approach than everyone else and targeted the lack of influence that having a strong father will have on a person as they grow up.
Gilbert Arenas took a page out of Floyd Mayweather's book, and spoke out on Instagram against the NFL and Ravens organization for their decision to punish Ray twice. Even though Gilbert clearly stated in the beginning of his address, "I will start off by saying I don't condone domestic violence, this is just MY opinion," he feels as though it is wrong for Ray to have to suffer a second punishment for something that was addressed months ago. Gilbert believes that the fact that the NFL and Ravens have decided to blackball him now, only makes it look like they're trying to cover their own tracks and correct their initial mistake of not coming down on him harder when they gave him a 2-game suspension. He also feels as though his wife is the only person who can judge him and that the NFL and Ravens need to "stop acting like the victims!"
Many fans have taken notice to Gilbert's views on the matter, and many of them agree with his stance on the situation and the way that the NFL and Ravens organization has handled the matter. Others are opposed to Gilbert's views.
