Gucci Mane has had a year knocked off of his 39-month prison sentence.

According to Rolling Stone, an Atlanta judge ruled that a year would be labeled as time served. The rapper was arrested in September 2013 for firearm possession, and was sentenced on August 2014. The rapper's lawyers convinced the judge that the rapper's sentencing should begin at the time he was arrested, rather than the time he was sentenced.

Gucci is now expected to be released from jail in 2016.

Until then, the rapper will engage in a drug rehabilitation program. Once released, Gucci will only have permission to spend a week at a time outside of Georgia.

The rapper will release a new mixtape, Trap God 3 soon.
