Michael Sam could potentially sign with the Dallas Cowboys by the end of this week.
According to ESPN Dallas, the free agent defensive end will meet with officials from the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday for a physical. If Sam passes his physical, he will join the team's practice squad.
Sources say the move is good for Sam since the Cowboys are in need of a good defensive end.
Sam scored 2.5 sacks and led the Rams with six tackles last week against the Miami Dolphins. Even though the Rams lost the game, Sam's skills were praised by NFL critics.
The player, who would have been the first openly gay player in the NFL has also received an invite to appear on WWE 's Monday Night Raw to share his thoughts on getting cut from the Rams.
