The adult film industry came to a screeching halt on Thursday, August 28th, after a performer tested positive for HIV.
The test results caused a temporary ban on filming and sent shock waves through the industry. Luckily for the performer additional tests proved that the initial positive result was inaccurate and activities were allowed to resume as normal.
The Free Speech Coalition, which acts as the industry's national trade association, released a statement on the incident saying, "We thank the producers, performers, agents and doctors who worked together during this difficult time for maintaining the moratorium, and for quickly helping establish a list of first generation contacts. While this was a false positive, it is always essential that we remain vigilant in concern to performer health."
