During a deposition in the civil case brought against him by a celeb photographer, Kanye West has revealed a shocking truth from his childhood -- his father was once a paparazzo.

The paparazzi have had a tumultuous history with West, capped by the rapper's no contest plea in a misdemeanor battery case last year involving a run-in with the photog who's suing him.

"My father was a paparazzo himself. My father was a medical illustrator, a Black Panther, a Christian marriage counselor," West told the lawyer of photographer Daniel Ramos during the deposition.

West, who was sentenced to two years of probation, 24 anger management therapy sessions, and 250 hours of community service due to the scuffle, maintains that he didn't hurt Ramos, who has claimed physical and emotional suffering due to the attack.
