Stephen Hill, BET's director of programming and special events, issued an apology over a joke Karrueche said about Beyonce's daughter during her recent appearance on 106 & Park.

Hill took to Twitter to confirm that Kae had nothing to do with the joke and that the network has apologized privately to Beyonce and Jay Z.

"Last night on 106 & Park there was a stupid, unthoughtful joke made about a young child." he tweeted.

"We apologize publicly to the child's parents (and have done so privately) and we have taken punitive actions with those responsible," he continued. "It was very bad judgment and we will serve you much better in the future. Oh, and please don't hate on Karrueche; it was NOT her fault. We also apologize to her for putting her in that position."

Karrueche has also spoke out about the joke, claiming that she has nothing but respect for the Carters and Blue Ivy. Fans taunted her online shortly after the joke went viral.

Do you think BET's apology is too late?
