While the NBA and other male sport leagues still struggle with the issue of homosexuality, female sport leagues, like the WNBA, are not only embracing their gay players -- their gay players are embracing each other.

Brittney Griner, a former NCAA Women's Basketball champion and All-Star center for the Phoenix Mercury, took to Instagram Friday to announce her engagement to longtime girlfriend Glory Johnson, an All-Star forward for the Tulsa Shock.

"Last Night was a Night to Remember," Griner said in the caption of a photo of herself on bended knee. "I became the happiest person on this earth! (almost pass out but when that one word came out I came back to life) Me and my baby @missvol25 are in it for Life!"

Johnson confirmed the engagement on her Instagram account with a picture of a sleeping Griner lying on a bed with a diamond ring sitting on her shoulder.

"What I get to wake up to," Johnson blushed in the caption before tagging Griner's account and adding the hashtag "#LoveMakesYouDoTheCraziestThings".

We want to congratulate the couple and wish them the best in the future. What do you think of their engagement? Should active players be able to marry? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
