While cast and crew for the upcoming NWA biopic were filming on location at the Compton Courthouse last week, gunfire erupted from a car of passersby who were throwing up gang signs as they attempted to air out the shoot.

According to TMZ, an eyewitness observed that the car didn't seem to be targeting the film crew specifically, but bullets were still fired dangerously close to crew members, with one nearby civilian hit who collapsed near the set but luckily survived.

The LA County Sheriff's department says the shooting is under investigation, with no concrete evidence that it was gang-related, and while much of the crew were shaken by the experience, they will continue filming this week.
