Freddie Gibbs sat down for Ebro's Hot 97 morning show where he explained his reasons for parting ways with Young Jeezy's CTE label. The "Put On" rapper appeared on Hot 97 the day prior and said that he invested a lot of money in Gibbs, but didn't feel like he was getting a return on his investment.

The Gary, Indiana rapper says that while he agrees that things didn't work out between him and Jeezy, Freddie has a different recollection of some of the things Jeezy claimed during his interview. He says he never took a dollar from the CTE rapper, and also explained why he went in on Jeezy with previous records.

"The reason why I lashed out the way I did with the records and the words that I said is truly because of what was said yesterday. He made it seem like he saved some little, poor Gary boy to the rap game, but that definitely isn't the case. Before I got with Young Jeezy, I was on the cover of XXL. Before I got with Young Jeezy, I was on tours. Before I got with him, I was making money. I didn't take a dollar from Young Jeezy. That 300K/400K thing, that's a total lie."

Jeezy had also claimed that Freddie hurt his relationship with Eminem after Gibbs didn't want to get on a track with Em.

Freddie explained that he wasn't feeling the song and didn't have a relationship with the Detroit rapper, but he obliged and got on the track anyway. He adds that he was reluctant to be a part of the track, because that's not the approach that he was going for and he didn't want to come off as "thirsty."

As the segment about Jeezy concluded, Freddie said it was just a difference of opinion on how he wanted to be represented as an artist, and he didn't appreciate being dragged through the mud in the industry. He added that most people he's worked with, including Tech N9ne, know him to be punctual, responsible, and hard working.
