A Florida gun shop has denied hiring George Zimmerman as the store's security guard.

According to USA Today, the killer of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was spotted in front of Pompano Pat's Motorcycles after a robbery had occurred.

When reports quickly spread that Zimmerman was an employee at the store, Pat Johnson, the store's owner, came forward to share his relationship with Zimmerman.

"I didn't OK it. I didn't know about it. I didn't authorize it. I didn't pay for it," Johnson said. "He had just watched Facebook and the news, and just took it upon himself to come up here and sit."

Johnson made news last year after he offered Zimmerman a free gun after he was acquitted from the murder of Martin.

Johnson claims he told Zimmerman not to come back to the store after the robbery.

"I sent him a text message telling him not to come back to the store anymore," Johnson said.

Johnson is currently running for mayor. He says his affiliation with Zimmerman has lead to death threats being sent to the store.

It isn't known if Zimmerman has a job elsewhere in Florida.
