Like many rappers, Snoop Dogg came up battling before he signed his deal to Death Row Records. In fact, he and good friend Kurupt often battled around Long Beach, with Kurupt killing everything in sight until he battled Snoop in what they both called "an epic 45-minute bout."

Snoop, like many rappers who came up in the battle scene, is now reaching out to the culture in an effort to showcase the talents of battle rappers on the big stage.

Just weeks after the "Total Slaughter" event, Snoop is reaching out to battlers to talk about the possibility of shining some light on them during this year's 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards, where he's been given hosting duties.

Snoop shared a video post on Instagram from Murda Mook about bringing battlers to the show, and was seen on Twitter hitting up Queen of the Ring rappers Official, Couture, and Jaz the Rapper.

Which Battlers would you like to see at the BET Hip-Hop Awards? Sound off below.
