Just a few months after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 went missing, another flight by the same carrier has crashed on the Russia/Ukraine border. The Boeing 777 jet, reportedly loaded with 295 passengers, was on its way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and its last known position was over a Ukrainian airspace, according to CNN.

Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to Ukraine's Interior Minister, posted on Facebook claiming that the flight had been hit by a missile fired from a Buk launcher over the eastern part of Ukraine. The area has seen heavy fighting between the country's military and separatists in recent days. Early Thursday morning the Ukrainian military claimed that Russian jets shot down a Ukrainian war plane the night before.

A video has been circulating on YouTube that reportedly shows a plane burning in a distant field.
