Real Housewives of Atlanta Star, Apollo Nida has been sentenced to eight years in prison.

According to AJC, Nida was sentenced on Tuesday by a federal judge for his involvement in a wiring fraud scam that affected over 50 people, and collectively made $2 million.

Nida will serve his sentence in a prison near Atlanta, so he can visit his children and wife, Phadrea Parks.

Reporters claim the star was visibly upset about the sentence, but Reginald G. Moore, Special Agent in Charge of the United States Secret Service, says his celebrity wasn't going to give him a shorter sentence for his crimes.

"Today's sentencing exemplifies impartial justice regardless of economic class or perceived celebrity status.," he said."Nida's sentence should be an eye opener for other like-minded criminals who scheme to steal victims' identities, defraud them and ignore the consequences of their actions."

Nida may be released early for good behavior after a year, and placed in a halfway house in the state.
