Beyonce's love for her hometown is appreciated by the people, especially after the singer reportedly spent $7 million on housing for the homeless.

According to KHOU News, the singer's pastor Rudy Rasmus, opens up about Beyonce during an interview for his new book Love, Period. Rasmus presided over the singer in her 2008 wedding to Jay Z.

Rasmus says that Beyonce is a wonderful spirit and has donated millions to the church and to the people in need.

"She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work and I'm glad she's a friend of mine," he said. "She's an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here."

The singer has not only donated to the church, but has provided housing for over 40 men and women who were living on the streets. Kelly Rowland and her mother, Tina Knowles also were a part of the Knowles-Temenos apartment created back in 2007. A second building was announced in January 2013.

The services provided for residents include job and education training, a computer room and a meeting room.

Rasmus added that Beyonce is the part of the inspiration behind his new book on love and happiness.

"When we decide to love period, we're saying there's nothing to follow the period," he said. "We're gonna love you for who you are, where you are, without conditions".
