As J. Cole celebrates the five-year anniversary of The Warm Up, the rapper shared a few embarrassing stories of his come-up with Sway for Rapfix.

The "Born Sinner" rapper tells the story of the time he snuck into Aaron Reid's birthday party in hopes of meeting Jay Z. While he didn't know Reid at all, the then 20-year-old was asked questions about him and played along in the interview.

"There was a girl at my school at St. John's and it was my senior year in college and she interned up at the label so she asked did anyone want to go to the 40/40 Club because they're having a Sweet 16 for Aaron Reid and it's an MTV thing," he said. "We didn't know who he was but it was L.A Reid's son. At first I was like 'Girl, I'm 20 years old, what you mean Sweet 16?' but then she was like, 'Swiss Beats gonna be there, Jermaine Dupri gonna be there, Kanye West gonna be there,' so me aspiring rapper, aspiring producer, the light bulb went off. So I said 'Say no more, I'm there.' I just got this t-shirt made 'Produce For Jay Z Or Die Trying' so I wore that. I knew one day I would be where Jay was and I would be wearing that shirt so that was the plan in my mind."

MTV's cameras picked the rapper and his friends to say something about Reid's big day. While Cole didn't know Reid at all, he was asked to play along for the sake of television.

"I feel like I said some funny stuff that they didn't use," he said. "We get to the front door and they got the cameras on us and its television so we learned real quick how television works. We walked up to the front and they were like 'How do you feel about Aaron turning 16?' So I said, 'Hey we don't really know him we just came for the party.' And they lady said it was okay but we had to say something.

"So I said, 'Yea we're Aaron's best friends, we had to come out. This party is crazy man.' I just started being goofy as possible. Every question they asked I would say, 'Aaron's the man!' and when they asked us what he was getting, one person said 'I heard he was getting a car,' someone else said 'I heard he's getting a watch,' and I said, 'I heard he's getting a plane!' just trying to be extra as possible hoping they might use it not knowing one day I would be sitting here talking to Sway about it.

The rapper was also caught in the audience of Dave Chappelle's "Block Party" in 2006.

"I was at Dave Chapplle's Block Party too," he said. "People be catching me."
