Feminists across the nation began a #FeministBooty Twitter trend to speak out against the many stigmas attached to their views by those within the general public who either do not understand or agree with their views. The trend was created with the intentions of having women post pictures channeling their own sexuality and showing the world that they can be free and confident with the appearance of their bodies without society turning them into visual items for their own pleasure.
The #FeministBooty trend predictably took off, and sparked a huge wave of reactions and participation from many Twitter users. However, the trend ultimately got taken out of context and became an outlet for many people to show off their cheeks, simply to gain attention.
