Future made some of the melodies on Beyonce's smash hit "Drunk in Love," but the Atlanta superstar doesn't appear in the credits. He opened up about the situation to MTV, saying that a lot of the snafu can be chalked up to the song's producer, Detail.

Detail and Future had worked together on past projects, and when the "Tony Montana" rapper was asked to lay vocals on the "Drunk in Love" beat, he didn't hesitate.

"I know the direction people think she was gonna go. And for you to have 'Drunk in Love,' it's a whole 'nother direction; it's like, that young and fresh. She do this, it's over. I was excited about it."

While working on his "Honest" album, Future used the same melody he had created for Beyonce's song on his track, "Good Morning," which was finished by the time "Drunk in Love" rolled around. When Bey dropped her album in December, Future was dumbfounded.

"I was like, 'What I'mma do with 'Good Morning' now? This one of our favorite songs. It was like, 'Man, why wouldn't you tell me?'"

After hearing Future's collaboration with Miley Cyrus, "Real and True," the Atlanta rapper says Detail approached him with a deal that he later declined. "He was like, 'Give me some publishing off 'Real and True,' and I'll give you some publishing off 'Drunk in Love.' This [is] six months afterwards."

Looking back on their past relationship, Future said, "We ain't have no problem with 'Tapout,' We ain't have no problem with the B.o.B record. We ain't have no problem with the Flo Rida record. But as soon as 'Drunk in Love' come, you switch up."

"It didn't affect our relationship right now, [but] it was on my mind a lot at the time," he added. "I moved on from it, because I understand the bigger picture. We make too much great music together."
