Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, and police arrested a man who planted fake bombs near the marathon's finish line.

According to BuzzFeed, the man identified was Kayvon Edson, a 25-year-old who struggles with mental illness. Police detonated two backpacks after suspicions of them possibly containing bombs.

One of the bags was left by Edson, who was wearing an all black getup with a black floppy hat. Edson was walking down the street barefoot screaming "Boston Strong," a saying that the town adopted after the Boston Marathon bombing, when he was approached by police.

After telling police he left a bomb by the finish line, he was arrested while a Bomb Squad tended to the backpacks.

One of the bags detonated contained a rice cooker filled with confetti while the other contained photo equipment.

Police are now looking into Edson's reasoning behind the hoax. Just a few days ago the suspect posted memes of Boston Bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev on his Facebook page.

Edison is charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and possession of a hoax device.
