According to sources who've spoken with ESPN.com, Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks are currently mapping out a deal to sign veteran free agent Lamar Odom to the Knicks organization before the end of the regular season on Wednesday, April 16th.  With the immediate signing, it would make Odom available to potentially play immediately if his back injury will allow him to do so.  The deal could also include an "unguaranteed second year for next season," according to ESPN.com.

According to ESPN.com's Mark Stein, the deal would be a timely investment where the Knicks could use the off-season months to really get Odom acquainted with their system and play style.  Odom and Jackson, who have worked together for years in the past when they were both a part of the LA Lakers organization, were seen huddling together having a conversation at the recent Knicks game, so it is highly likely that New York fans may see Lamar in a Knicks jersey in the near future.  This deal would most likely have never even been considered if not for Phil Jackson's creative approach to bringing a broader scope of talent to the Knicks franchise.

Since news broke of Lamar's possible Knicks union, loads of fan reactions have sprouted on Twitter.  While some are interested in seeing what Lamar can contribute to the team, many others poked fun at his alleged drug abusing past and how he will carry that over to the team.

Check out the many fan reactions to the potential signing above.
