After a two year investigation, the NYPD has indicted 63 members of the "Mac Balla Family" Bloods based in the South Bronx. Charges include murder, kidnapping, assault, assult with deadly weapons, home invasion and drug possession/ distribution.

Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson said the indictment "alleges an extensive catalogue of violent crimes." The investigation included wiretaps and video surveillance of "The Nine," the area around 169th street and Washington Ave. and the Webster and Morris projects. The gang had been trafficking heroin, cocaine and prescription pills throughout the Bronx and Manhattan, and was also involved in at least two murders.

Fifteen suspects are still at large.
