Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, former head of Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel, lived a life of little opulence while racking up nearly one billion dollars before his arrest, but his sons have more than made up for his modest living. Twitter accounts allegedly belonging to Alfredo and Ivan Guzman showcase a life of luxury and debauchery.
The two have amassed tens of thousands of fans who wait for photos of gold-plated guns, Bentleys, and baby lions. Ivan and Alfredo are both from El Chapo's first marriage, and were reported to have followed him into the cartel business. Ivan was arrested in 2005 on money laundering charges, but was released three years later after it couldn't be proven that the money was a result of drug sales.
After their father's arrest, the two also spoke out against the Mexican government, with Alfredo writing, "The Government is going to pay for this betrayal, it shouldn't have bitten off more than it could chew. I just want to say that we are not beaten. The cartel is my father's and will always be my father's. GUZMAN LOERA FOREVER."
Ivan added, "Those dogs that dared to lay a hand on my father are going to pay."
