The long-time Program Director for New York City's Hot 97 radio station, Ebro Daren, has finally decided to step down.  Ebro has become greatly admired by many, but also ridiculed by others, for his collective effort into helping to bring Hot 97 to where it is today.  His outspoken personality as a radio host has also made him a prime candidate for future stardom with reality TV, and it is because of this that Ebro got picked up by VH1 for the new reality series, This Is Hot 97.  The show will take viewers behind the scenes to show all of the drama that occurs at the popular radio station.

He explained to his many Twitter followers that he was given an option between joining the show and showcasing his more creative talent, or remaining as a corporate entity and continuing with his position as Program Director, to which Ebro chose the former.

"They was like so wait, u got mornings and now TV? How u gone do spread sheets, conference calls & meetings...? Pick Ebro," he tweeted.

He later made an official statement in a press release confirming his departure and his decision to make the career change.

"Fortunately, I have had tremendous success doing both on-air and PD roles, and EMMIS let me choose where I would be happiest. Mornings, TV and assisting in programming makes sense with everything HOT 97 and I have happening today, so I chose creative over corporate. See you all at 5a tomorrow."

He will remain as Hot 97's Program Director until a proper replacement is found.
