Vh1, Mona Scott Young, and Viacom are among those named in a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by 8th Wonder Entertainment, who claim that "Love & Hip Hop" is a rip off of their original "Hip Hop Wives" show. The company claims that they submitted a script for their show, which was set to star Chrissy Lampkin, DMX's ex-wife Tashera Simmons, and Swizz Beatz's ex Mashonda Tifere.

The legal documents claim that Vh1 held a pitch meeting for the show, which was given a green light. However, the plaintiffs were unaware that the script and a list of the stars of the show were allegedly leaked to Mona Scott Young, under the impression that everything was supposed to be kept confidential.

The plaintiffs are claiming that Mona and Vh1 plotted to steal the premise for their show to put together "Love & Hip Hop," but the story is still developing.
