Raymond Felton's wife, 26-year-old Ariane Raymondo-Felton, has recently dropped him in some very deep shark infested legal waters after she reported to police that he has been keeping an FNH 5.7x28-mm gun in their home.  The 29-year-old New York Knicks point guard was arrested after turning himself in at the 20th precinct in Manhattan around 12:50 a.m., only hours after the Knicks suffered a hard-fought 110-108 loss to the Dallas Mavericks at Madison Square Garden.  The reason for his arrest is because Felton's wife actually reported the weapon to police.

Felton and his wife Ariane are going through a divorce, and informed her lawyer that Felton kept the firearm in the house, to which the lawyer then brought it to police which resulted in his arrest and also having serious felony charges set against him.  Upon turning himself in for questioning, Felton was charged with second and third-degree felony criminal possession of a firearm, along with fourth-degree possession (a misdemeanor).  The second-degree felony charge carries with it a maximum sentence of 15-years in prison, meanwhile the third-degree charge carries a maximum sentence of 7-years. The fact that he was charged with these multiple counts of criminal possession can only indicate that Felton's gun was not registered, otherwise there would be no reason for authorities to officially arrest him if he had the proper paperwork in order for the weapon.

According to an unidentified police source, Felton's wife allegedly felt uncomfortable with the gun being kept in the home so she decided to report him.  The young brunette beauty is currently studying at Fordham University School of Law, and filed for divorce from him after being married for only 19-months.

"She had knowledge that the gun was there.  She said she didn't want the gun there anymore."

Various rumors have been floating around that he pointed the gun at his ex-wife during a heated argument, but those allegations have yet to be confirmed.  Granted, no one aside from Raymond and Ariane have any idea of what their marriage was really like behind closed doors, but if Raymond never did threaten her in any way, do you think jeopardising his freedom by turning in the gun was the right thing to do, or did Ariane go a bit overboard?
