Chief Keef admitted that he got hyped about making new music after listening to 50 Cent's "Get Rich or Die Tryin" soundtrack. He tweeted out lyrics to "I Don't Know Officer," which he followed up by writing, I'm finna go in Da stu and goooo so crazy Thanks to @50Cent."

At the start of Chief Keef's career, 50 Cent took him under his wing and showed him the ropes of the industry, but things fell apart after Keef failed to show up for his "Hate Being Sober" video shoot, which Fif paid for. When asked about the situation, 50 said it just boiled down to the Chicago rapper not listening to his advice.

"I actually was attracted to the Chief Keef thing because I was like, I can help him. I know what to do. He didn't listen, so I wouldn't actually offer (what was said) to the general public. To reach out to him and actually talk to him, I did that. He's a man, a young man. My son is a year younger than him. So when I'm talking to him, he don't have to take it. I'm not his father, that's his business."
