With all of the controversy that's been sprouting lately across the country regarding race equality in America when it pertains to Black culture, TMZ has come up with a rather bold poll to get people's opinions about referring to Blacks as "African Americans" or "Ni**as."  The made the poll in response to an interview they did with Suge Knight where he shared his thoughts on the usage of the N-word.

Suge doesn't believe that Black people should be called African Americans, unless they are from Africa and have relocated.  However, the problem there is that even Africans don't call themselves "Africans," but instead they refer to themselves according to their specific country of origin.  Suge finds it odd that rappers are given a constant pass by the general public to say the N-word, so long as they're black, but athletes get ridiculed for saying it at all, even if they are black.  Suge believes that if some people are allowed to use it, then it should be allowed by all, and vice versa.

After posting the interview on their site, TMZ uploaded a poll titled, "Refer to black people as: Ni**a or African American."  The results actually show that 56% prefer the N-Word, while the rest prefer African American.  One flaw of the poll is that there is no way to tell who is participating in it.  It would be interesting if polls targeting specific race groups could chime in to see how people really feel then.

What do you think, should Black people be referred to as African American, Ni**a, or something else entirely?
