Five-time champion Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte had a dose of bad luck recently when his attempts to save a teenage girl from falling went south.  The incident occurred last weekend, according to USA Today, during his trip to Gainesville, Florida.  Lochte was apparently trying to catch a girl who was sprinting at him, but the result of his heroic act led to them both falling to the ground, with Lochte hitting his knees on the curb.

The impact tore his MCL and damaged his left knee with a sprained ACL, while the young girl was unharmed, so in the end his attempts to save her from the perils of falling did work to a certain degree.  His publicist Janice Lee says that Ryan's medical staff expects him "to make a full and speedy recovery."

Hopefully he'll get better soon.
