The hip hop world raised a few eyebrows when it learned that Paris Hilton had joined the YMCMB team, with many questioning as to what she could possibly bring to the table. Speaking to MTV, YMCMB co-founder Birdman explained why he wanted Hilton on the label.
"We're hustlers, we love money and she's already great, I think," Birdman said. "We're music and when we put that combination together, it's special. We turned something good into something great. When she came and played her music for me, I was taken away. I was excited. I was surprised. I didn't know what to expect when I first heard it, but when I heard it I was like it was something I'd love to work with."
"Soon as she's ready, whenever she reach out and the song fit, then we gon' make it happen," Birdman said. "I believe in teamwork and we all look after each other. Whenever she's ready, whoever she want on the roster, that's available for her, anytime."
