The match, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York, saw Williams defeat Victoria Azarenka after winning 7-6, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1.
This makes an astounding 18 career Grand Slam titles for the American tennis phenom, who took home $2.6 million plus a $1 million bonus for coming out on top in the Emirates Airline US Open Series.
