News recently broke that JR Smith will be suspended and/or fined by the NBA for violating their anti-drug program.  According to the New York Daily News, a source allegedly close to the situation claims that Smith did not test positive for performance enhancing drugs, which would suggest that he got caught with marijuana in his system.

The only way for Smith to be suspended for smoking or partaking in the general consumption of herb, is if he has three strikes on his record for the NBA's anti-drug policy.  The first strike would require him to attend a drug program while the second would consist of a $25,000 fine.  The third leads to suspension.

JR is expected to make an official announcement either late Friday, September 6th, or Monday, September 9th.
