Tyler Perry is currently in the middle of a lawsuit with screenwriter William James for allegedly stealing the premise for his 2013 directorial film, "Temptation," from James' 2009 screenplay, "Lovers Kill."  According to "Atlanta Black Star," James filed the suit earlier this year and the case has yet to be dismissed or resolved.

Perry recently beat a copyright infringement case filed by author Terri Donald, who claimed that he sent Perry a copy of his 2007 novel "Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit," and Perry illegally used the story's premise for his film "Good Deeds," which was released in 2012.
