An off-duty black firefighter was severely mistreated recently, when he was threatened with a taser and tackled to the ground for waving at a white police officer.

George Madison, Jr., an Evansville, Indiana firefighter and youth pastor, filed a complaint against the officer for Tuesday's events.

According to the police department's dispatch report, Madison was stopped because he "failed to stop on his bike and raised his right arm in an apparent aggravated manner."

Madison did admit that he had no intention of stopping at the intersection, but says he was surprised when the cops made a sudden left turn.

"He did it real fast," Madison told a local paper. "I thought it was one of the guys (police) I knew."

As a firefighter, Madison says he knows many police officers and figured he would wave at them. Unfortunately, the officer didn't know him and he didn't know the officer.

"The officer jumped out and says, 'What are you doing throwing your hands up at us?' He is talking to me as he is coming toward me. I tried to explain, but I couldn't get a word in edgewise," said Madison.

Madison evidently knew the Police Chief, who he attempted to call to calm everyone down. The officer demanded Madison put his phone down, and freaked out when he didn't.

"I remember looking down the barrel of a taser, because the officer was gritting his teeth and saying, 'Don't make me pull this trigger,'" said Madison.

We'll see if the officer even gets punished. Knowing police departments, he'll likely receive a slap on the wrist.
